Microsoft has announced a new series of features coming to Microsoft Teams as part of the July 2022 update, and the list is impressive, to say the least.

There are seven new features coming to Microsoft Teams, starting with changes target the Forms app. The app is being renamed to Polls, and Microsoft has also refined the UI with an entry point in the polls portal page, a screen to show the poll results view, and a new position for the list of suggested polls.

When it comes to phone and calling capabilities, Microsoft Teams now allows users to remove a call from the history, while the call recording announcements are now played in the default language.

As far as the chat and collaboration sides are concerned, Microsoft continues working on the LinkedIn integration, while also providing users with automatic grouping for channel posts.

“Use LinkedIn profiles, now integrated with Teams, to get to know your colleagues, connect directly and build deeper relationships. From Teams chat, channels, calls, or meetings, you will now be able to view your colleague’s LinkedIn profile, including their current role, past experiences, and other insights,” the company explains.

“When creating a message post in a team channel, users are now able to notify owners of the team all at once by mentioning “@Team Owners,” removing the need to mention team owners individually. “Team Owners” is automatically grouped and doesn’t require any manual maintenance.”

If you use Microsoft Teams on an iPad, there’s good news for you too. Microsoft says it has specifically focused on the experience on Apple’s tablet, so the app should now feel at home on the iPad thanks to the latest optimizations.

“Microsoft Teams on iPad is now more responsive to screen size, app orientation, and display modes. The Teams app bar and canvas will automatically align based on the screen size available to the Teams app,” Microsoft says.
