14 DAY TRIAL // LastPass, the popular password manager that's available on desktop and mobile platforms, has just received a major update that brings a fresh user interface and many new features.
The new version of LastPass is now available on PC, Mac OS X, Android, and iOS, but some features might not be available right away on mobile devices.
According to developers, over the next several weeks, they will incrementally autoupdate all Free, Premium, and Enterprise users to LastPass 4.0.
That being said, if you already have LastPass 3.0 installed on your Android, iOS device, then no action is needed for the automatic update in your browser(s).
However, those who don't want to wait for the autoupdate will be able to download the latest version of LastPass from developer's downloads page.
The most significant changes for Android and iOS users is the Emergency Access, which enables users to designate trusted family or friends who should have access to their vault in case of an emergency.

Emergency Access includes various settings like the option to set a waiting period before your friends have access to your passwords and notes.
Also, users can designate Emergency Access contacts in their vault and get their family and friends to start using LastPass. According to developers, when a user sets up Emergency Access, their vaults are encrypted locally and then synced with LastPass.
Android and iOS users will also notice LastPass features a new look and feel, as the application offers a smoother visual vault experience with big icons, simpler navigation, and bolder colors.
If you don't have the application yet, you can now download LastPass 4.0 for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.0 and up.
For iOS users, the application can be downloaded for free via App Store. It should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 6.0 or later.
