AT&T and Kyocera have teamed up once again to offer Android fans another cheap smartphone with rugged features. The waterproof Kyocera Hydro Air is now available exclusively at Walmart and AT&T.

Customers who want to purchase the Kyocera Hydro Air will have to come up with $100 outright, since the smartphone is part of AT&T's GoPhone prepaid service.

If you decide to go for this entry-level Android smartphone, then you should know AT&T's GoPhone rate plans are $45 per month for 1.5GB of data or $60 per month for 4GB of data.

As mentioned earlier, Hydro Air is an IP57 certified smartphone, which means it can withstand being submerged in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.

It's also worth mentioning Kyocera Hydro Air ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, and it's likely to remain on this version of the platform considering its specs sheet.

Speaking of which, the Hydro Air has been confirmed to pack a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Beside the IP57 certification, Kyocera's smartphone also offers gloved and wet-finger tracking on the display, so owners will be able to use it even in the rain. The handset sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution.

Furthermore, the Hydro Air is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

Last but not least, the entry-level phone is powered by a 2,300 mAh battery, which should provide up to 24 days of standby time or up to 15 hours of talk time.
