14 DAY TRIAL // As you may have heard, all the Kardashian-Jenner women, with the exception of Kourtney Kardashian and Kris Jenner, have their own blogs and apps now. Kylie Jenner’s, for instance, is mostly about outrageous fashion, funky hair and makeup tutorials.
Kylie is the youngest of the family, but at 18, she’s already showing signs of surpassing older half-sister Kim Kardashian in popularity very soon. She’s not just popular either, she’s also very influential, as the unfortunate #KylieJennerChallenge, where teens tried to get her clown lips, proved.
Kylie Jenner and her ever-changing lips
Because she’s part of the family she’s part of, the bulk of the media attention Kylie has been getting in the last couple of years centered on her ever-changing appearance, specifically on her alleged plastic surgery.
For months, despite undeniable photographic evidence, Kylie denied she was getting regular filler injections in the lips, saying they only “appeared” larger because she had suddenly mastered the art of over-lining her lips.
She saved the big reveal for the family’s E! reality show, of course, admitting that she did, in fact, get temporary fillers because her lips “had always been an insecurity of [hers].” She made it sound as if it was just a one-time thing, but their size continued to expand in the following months.
In almost no time, teens were sticking suction devices on their pouts in the hope of getting Kylie’s lips, sometimes to disastrous results. There were also thousands of makeup tutorials for young girls and women looking to replicate her doll-like daily look.
The bottom line is that, whatever Kylie did to her lips and her face, a lot of other people wanted to get done as well.
Kylie wants small lips now
In a recent makeup tutorial posted on her paid subscription blog, Kylie tells Joyce Bonelli that she’s no longer feeling her oversized lips.
“You know what's weird?” she asks. “I've been into small lips lately. Like, I want them to look small.”
She doesn’t say she plans on stopping the injections, which would mean she’d go back to her natural, very thin lips in a couple of months’ time, but that’s the implication.
All those women who have spent the last year or so trying to nail the “Kylie Jenner look” with matte lipstick and clownish lips, have a new beatify challenge ahead, if this happens.
