Konami dismisses recent rumors that it's given up on making full-fledged triple-A games, with the exception of the PES series, in favor of mobile applications. The Japanese company confirms that it's actively working on all of its major franchises, from Metal Gear to Silent Hill or Castlevania.

Konami hasn't been going through its best period in the last few months, as rumors about internal turmoil, coupled with the departure of major designers and developers, have led to plenty of speculation.

The latest major report arrived last week, as it was confirmed from several sources that Konami was no longer going to make any major triple-A games for consoles. It was said that the Japanese company was only going to bring Pro Evolution Soccer titles to consoles, while all of its other resources worked on cheaper mobile games and applications.

Konami dismisses recent rumors, says it's still working on big titles

Now, the publisher has stepped forward to deny these allegations, confirming that it's still developing a lot of different console experiences from its major franchises.

The statement, via NintendoLife, mentions that it's unclear what exactly led to the myriad of reports and that the company will continue to make new installments for franchises like Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania, and PES.

"I can promise you that we're definitely not leaving Metal Gear behind or anything like that. I know some blogs were claiming that online this morning, but I'm not really sure where they'd be getting that from. We're still definitely working on console games and franchises such as Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania, PES and all the rest," the company explains.

Right now, Konami has just released Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, as well as PES 2016, and it's working on the upcoming Metal Gear Online multiplayer experience. Its other projects, however, are shrouded in mystery, so expect to hear more about them in the future.
