It seems that Sony Computer Entertainment is at the moment working on a sequel for the Knack title that was delivered alongside the PlayStation 4 when the console was first introduced, and an official announcement about it might be delivered soon.

The game is being mentioned in a LinkedIn profile of a 3D animator who is working for a Taiwan-based firm, who claims to have been involved with the experience since May of last year, trying to create animated character motions and cutscenes for the experience.

NeoGAF has captured the information before it was removed, which tends to be a good indication that there's some truth associated with it and that Sony is trying to make sure that it does not get out before it makes an official announcement.

The animation company has been involved with other video games projects and is currently also involved in the creation of Final Fantasy XV.

Sony might be getting ready to deliver an official announcement about Knack 2 at some point during the year and might even launch the title in 2016 although it's unclear what kind of experience might be associated with the new title.

The first Knack was created by the Japan Studio of Sony Computer Entertainment and was delivered alongside the PlayStation 4 when the home console was first introduced, designed from the ground up to show off the improved hardware that the device featured.

Mark Cerny was the director of the first installment in the series, which is important because he was also in charge of the creation of the core architecture of the new platform and the PlayStation Vita.

Knack 2 might be designed to point to the future of the PS4

The original title used both platforming and beat 'em up mechanics and allowed gamers to explore a wide range of environments while taking out enemies and solving some light puzzles, with gamers able to play all of it cooperatively.

The development of Knack 2, if the same studio is involved and Marl Cerny reprises his role, might be a way for Sony to show off some new features that it plans to introduce to the PlayStation 4 during the coming years.

The company has recently said that it does not plan to introduce a price cut for its home console for the foreseeable future while introducing new features via firmware.

Sony is also planning to continue to work with big publishers, like Activision, to deliver free or early content for major franchises like Destiny of Call of Duty.

Knack 2 might also be linked to the coming PlayStation VR technology, which is supposed to arrive before the end of the year and will introduce virtual reality capabilities to the home console.

An official price point and a launch date have not yet been revealed for the new tech, but rumors are saying that a full starter kit will be delivered for about 450 dollars or Euro and that the device will be introduced before the end of spring.
