The Kerbal Space Program: Breaking Ground DLC has finally arrived, and it greatly expands the gameplay mechanics to an entirely different level.

The Kerbal Space Program quickly became a hit even if there was no apparent reason why that should happen. People fell in love with the creatures and their attempts of developing a workings space program, in a very similar way to the human race.

In fact, this is probably why the Kerbal Space Program was welcomed by the community. It wasn’t just another simulator that simply made the players a glorified manager. It was a game that tested the ingenuity of the people playing it while providing all-needed entertainment.

The Breaking Ground expansion is more than just a DLC

Most DLCs usually bring some new missions, and maybe some new items, but the community for this game wants more than just that. So, the developers from Squad made sure to bring something for everyone.

For example, now that the space program is off the ground, people can set up new space experiments on various planets, deploy new equipment, and gather data for scientific analysis, just to name a few.

The developers also say that “a major addition with Breaking Ground is found on the celestial bodies scattered throughout the solar system. Meteors, craters, rock outcroppings, cryovolcanoes, and more now populate the landscape. While smaller surface features can be transported back to KSC by Kerbals themselves, larger ones provide a greater challenge and will require Kerbals to venture out in rovers or send unmanned rovers.”

Lastly, robotic parts have been added, which means that people can let their imagination loose and build new crafts for new challenges. The new expansion for Kerbal Space Program is available now on Steam for $14,99, but it’s worth noting that if you bought the game prior to April 2013, you’re going to receive this DLC for free.
