The plan was to have a boy and a girl from the start

On Father’s Day, Kim Kardashian announced that her second baby with husband Kanye West was a baby boy. She had previously documented their struggle to get pregnant again, which included several rounds of IVF, on the reality show, so this announcement on the baby’s gender was expected.

According to sources close to the couple speaking with Us Weekly, hearing that they were having a baby boy came as no surprise for them because that was the plan all along. The real surprise would have been finding out they were having a girl, because Kim had only male embryos implanted.

Kanye wanted “an heir”

According to the report, Kim and Kanye were clear from the start of the IVF process: they had decided they wanted a baby boy, so only male embryos would be used.

The procedure starts at $17,000 (€15,175), but money is definitely not an issue with one of the highest-earning couples in showbiz right now, especially when it comes to getting their idea of a dream family.

Speaking of ideas, this one started with Kanye, the spy explains.

“Kanye and Kim are so excited to complete their family. Kanye loves Nori more than anything, but to make his world complete, he wanted a little boy, an heir. [And] Kim always wanted two kids. A girl and a boy,” the tipster shares.

Nori is the couple’s first child, the 2-year-old girl they named North (full name, North West), much to the delight of commenters on the Internet.

Kim Kardashian is having a blast, for now

Kim is now in Cannes, where she gave a seminar on how she managed to build a business empire out of doing nothing but being herself. Attached is a photo of what she wore to one of the parties in town, this one hosted by the British tab the Daily Mail.

If you’ve been following celebrity news and gossip, you probably know how much she was criticized for her pregnancy fashion, which mostly consisted of wearing double Spanx, clothes at least 2 sizes too small, and impossibly high heels.

So far, she’s been following that trend, but she promises she has a “plan” this time to avoid past faux pas.

For the time being, though, she’s having a lot of fun. Morning sickness is as bad as it was the first time, but she’s still traveling the world, experimenting with her look and her fashion style, and just enjoying the experience.
