14 DAY TRIAL // They said it wouldn’t last, and it turns out that “they” were right, whoever they were. “The Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco and tennis pro Ryan Sweeting were married on New Year’s Eve 2013 after a whirlwind romance and surprise engagement, and they’re getting divorced now, 21 months later.
A rep for the couple confirms the split, but the first signs of trouble had been visible for fans on Cuoco’s Instagram page, if only they had known where to look. She removed all loved-up photos with Ryan, as well as their passionate love declarations.
“Irreconcilable differences”
The most recent photo with Ryan Kaley still has online on her official Instagram is from 2 weeks ago. They’re having cereal for breakfast and their body language is meant to suggest that everything is still alright between them.
However, they’re not kissing and / or declaring their love for each other in big words the way they used to. There are 2 more photos with Ryan and their dogs from about the same time, but other than that, all pics of him have been removed from the account. Even the wedding photos seem to have been taken down.
Considering how public Kaley made their romance, this was clearly the first sign of trouble. However, the tabloids have been speculating about the split for months, with rumors saying that he was either cheating on her or she had realized she’d made a huge mistake by rushing into marriage.
As per the rep, you can probably blame irreconcilable differences for the split. “Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting have mutually decided to end their marriage. They ask for privacy at this time. No further statement will be issued regarding this matter,” the official statement says.
A rushed romance
Kaley and Ryan met through mutual friends, and as per her own account, he moved in with her the next day after their first date. Within days, she was already gushing to the media about how he was “the one” and how in love they were, which, in showbiz, almost always spells trouble.
Less than 3 months later, they were engaged and planning the wedding, which was held on New Year’s Eve and was a fabulous affair she documented on camera for a few TV appearances and on social media.
She got the wedding date tattooed on the back of her neck, while he got a tattoo of her name on his arms, so they were definitely convinced their union would last. With the divorce proceedings underway, they will now have to think what to do about those unfortunate inks.
