14 DAY TRIAL // Developer Ovid Works and All in! Games have just announced Metamorphosis, the narrative adventure game inspired by Kafka's imagination finally has a release date. Moreover, a PC demo of Metamorphosis will be available on Steam from July 29 to August 5, so you can start playing right now.
Those who want the game on Xbox One will be happy to know Metamorphosis is now available for pre-order with a 10% discount. As far as the other platforms go, Metamorphosis will launch on PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on August 12.
In Metamorphosis, players will step into the shoes of a bug and see the world in a whole new way from a first-person perspective. The game promises to offer challenging environmental puzzles where you'll have to do parkour, climb walls, search for clues, and overcome obstacles. Since you'll be playing as a bug all the time, expect unique movement mechanics that will allow you to make full use of your tiny body and sticky limbs.
As far as the story goes, Metamorphosis's story is inspired by Kafka's imagination. Developers promise eccentric NPCs and, as visible in the screenshots, a hand-painted world that will make your trip through the landscapes towards The Tower the more surrealist.
Here is the blurb from Steam: “You wake up one morning to find that you are rather inconveniently transforming into a tiny bug, while your friend Joseph is being arrested for reasons unknown. To save him and to find the answers you seek, you must embark on a journey through a world which, like yourself, has become twisted and unfamiliar. What once seemed like mundane dwellings have become an expansive obstacle course, and now you’ll have to chart your path through the dingy nooks and crannies that exist within the cracks of civilization.”
