JETT: The Far Shore is the upcoming game from one of the studios responsible for Sword & Sorcery, Superbrothers. The game is set for release later this year on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC (via the Epic Game Store).

During Sony's State of Play event, Superbrothers revealed the first gameplay trailer for JETT: The Far Shore, a cinematic action adventure where players step into the shoes of a scout exploring a vast unknown.

We aspired to create a videogame to express our own feelings of awe when we look up at the starry sky. JETT's premise involves exploration and discovery, however our design doesn't rely on combat or resource extraction, and the characters go to some lengths to tread lightly, giving indigenous wildlife a wide berth, striving to adapt and avoid conflict,” said Craig D. Adams, Creative Director at Superbrothers.

Lucky owners of a PlayStation 5 will be happy to know that developers have used the controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to immerse players in the vast world of the far shore and in the pilot's seat of their jett.

JETT: The Far Shore invides players on an interstellar trip presented in five acts that promise to encompass mind-blowing moments, laid-back exploration, tense action, moments of heartfelt companionship, and “a helping of existential dread.”

While on board of their jett, players will be able to explore the undiscovered coastlines of a mythic ocean, inspect indigenous flora and fauna, adapt to new perils, and solve puzzles to overcome challenging obstacles using the vehicle's array of scientific tools.

To be successful, players must adapt to a complex, systemic open world and persevere through adversity alongside an intimate ensemble. Also, the soundtrack composed by Scntfc crucially contributes to the emotional atmosphere of the game. According to Superbrothers, we'll be shown more about JETT: The Far Shore in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more on this one.
