As noted above, she never made a secret of how much she likes to drink. However, in recent months, reports have been picking up that the situation may have gotten out of control and that she’s even doing public appearances and media interviews while under the influence.
Jessica Simpson is almost always “three sheets to the wind”
Last month, Jessica did a 2-hour live appearance on the Home Shopping Network (video below) to promote her latest fashion and accessories line, and appeared dazed and intoxicated. The HSN boss denied that she was drinking on the job, saying she was only being “spontaneous” and viewers at home misread that.
Still, this explanation isn’t convincing enough for the way she was slurring her words, swaying from side to side and generally acting in a very strange manner.
According to the latest print issue of OK!, Jessica is drunk most of the time these days. Just recently, she did an interview with an important publication and was “three sheets to the wind.”
“Jessica showed up for an interview with a major fashion magazine and couldn't answer a single question straight,” a spy is quoted as saying. “She giggled her way through the entire thing and clearly wasn't in the right state of mind. Jessica loves to drink, and she's not afraid to mix business with pleasure.”
Family is worried, wants rehab
OK! is really pushing this “Jessica Simpson is a drunken mess” storyline. A report from mid-September, from after her HSN appearance, for instance, claimed that she had a serious problem and that the family was looking into getting her into a program because of it.
Other insiders claimed she was mixing prescription pills and alcohol, which is why she was acting so erratically in public.
Because she would never agree to go to a rehabilitation facility and be parted with her kids, the family was supposedly looking into a program she could follow at home. The disastrous HSN appearance had been an eye-opener for them, it was said.
