Justin Theroux talks marriage to Jennifer Aniston, explains why she might not take his name

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux were married this summer, after a 3-year engagement, in a super secret ceremony held in their back yard. The next day after the wedding, they left for a honeymoon with several of their best friends, on what Justin describes in a new interview as “a fantastic honeymoon.”

The actor is promoting the upcoming second season of the hit HBO series “The Leftovers” and he sat down with Extra for a chat, which also ended up touching on his newlywed status a bit.

Jennifer Aniston will not take his name

Video of Justin Theroux’s interview is available at the link. After discussing the show and how season 2 will change the pace of the story by moving to a different location and introducing new, interesting characters, Justin also talks a bit about his private life.

Since he’s not in the habit of doing that regularly and considering Jennifer once said she would not be discussing her wedding with the press (ever!), the few bits that Justin offers are of value to fans and gossip lovers.

He says that they came up with the idea for the group honeymoon because they didn’t want a “normal” one, and he sounds incredibly pleased by how it turned out. Everyone had a lot of fun and they continued the party they started on the wedding night, but in a more relaxed environment.

As for the possibility that Jennifer Aniston will go by Mrs. Theroux in the future, don’t hold your breath.

“I made her change both names, so she’s now Justin Theroux,” the actor laughs. “I don’t know, that’s not part of the discussion. I don’t think it would be great if she did. I think ‘Aniston’ is going to stick with her if she likes it or not.”

Jennifer Aniston will continue going by that name professionally

Even if Jennifer Aniston does end up changing her name, now that she’s married to Justin, it’s very likely that she will continue going by this name professionally.

In the end, Justin is right: she is a huge brand and it could stand to suffer if she brought any alterations to the name.

Even back in the day when she was married to Brad Pitt, in her “Friends” hey-day, Jennifer had legally changed her name to Jennifer Aniston Pitt, but she was still going only by Aniston professionally.

Clearly, she sees no reason to change things up now.
