Over the weekend, Lifetime aired another unauthorized biopic, this time of the ‘90s hit TV series “Beverly Hills 90210,” produced by the late Aaron Spelling. Prior to the TV film, the network aired a special with Tori Spelling, in which she dished the dirt on a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff, while taking a lie detector test.

One of the details she revealed was that she had slept with another one of her co-stars, in addition to Brian Austin Green, who also played her love interest in the series. That other man was Jason Priestley, she said.

Tori Spelling has no boundaries

As you can see in the video below, Tori tried to drum up interest in her big reveal, even saying that “not even [her] friends” knew about it.

On the show, she said that she and Jason had a “summer fling,” their own version of a “90210” romance. She made it clear that the short-lived affair didn’t impact their working relationship and that they remained friends afterwards.

That may very well have been the case, but Tori had no place to discuss these things on TV, Jason says.

Some hours ago, he took part in a Twitter Q&A with his fans, discussing the show and his feelings towards the Lifetime projects.

You can see some of his replies in the tweets below.

While he made it clear that he didn’t watch the unauthorized biopic or Tori’s interview, he also expressed profound dislike towards the idea of both. It is no one’s business whether he and Tori slept together while working on the series or not, so he refused to deny or confirm what Tori said.

He did say though that he and Shannen Doherty were still on excellent terms, still good friends, unlike Tori and Shannen.

An obvious money grab

Lifetime seems to have found its niche as far as TV movies go: unauthorized biopics. Many of these movies they made in the past couple of years are cheap both as regards production costs and storytelling, with untalented actors working off very poor scripts.

“The Unauthorized Beverly Hills 90210 Story” was no different, so it was yet another money grab on part of the network, looking to monetize on the current frenzy of revivals of classic TV shows.

The same goes for Tori, who has been struggling for acting work for years. These days, her resume is limited to credits as a reality TV star, so being asked to do another Lifetime project must have come as a blessing in disguise, especially considering reports that she and husband Dean McDermott are going broke.
