Disintegration made headlines quite a lot in the last couple of months, but that's mostly because of the mastermind behind the new IP. Disintegration is a brand-new game developed by V1 Interactive, a studio founded by Marcus Lehto, the co-creator of Halo.

The game has just been released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and costs $50 / €50, but the important thing is reviews are already out, so if you have any favorite media or critics, you can go ahead and check that out.

But before that, here are are a couple of things that you might want to know about the game. First off, Disintegration is a blend of first-person shooter and real-time strategy elements. It's not unheard of to have both these very different genres bundled together, so it's the execution that counts.

Disintegration will challenge your perception of first-person shooters. It took time to blend just the right parts of the FPS and RTS genres and come up with something nobody has ever played before. Over the course of the single-player campaign, you will learn and eventually master the skills to become a tactical commander and fighter pilot from the seat of your Gravcycle,” said Marcus Lehto, President and Game Director at V1 Interactive.

Another important thing to mention is that Disintegration offers both a single-player campaign, as well as pretty decent multiplayer modes. In the single-player campaign, you'll be stepping into the shoes of Romer Shoal, an outlaw leader who barely escapes the clutches of one of the game's villains, Black Shuck.

Shuck and his goons are hunting and eliminating any remaining traces of humankind, so it's up to you and your crew of misfits to prevent that from happening. Since your band of heroes if far inferior to Shuck's army when it comes to numbers, you'll have to use guerrilla tactics.
