Concept envisions a modern overhaul of Windows 10

Microsoft isn’t necessarily in a rush to overhaul the look of Windows 10, though new feature updates typically bring additional options in this regard to further polish the experience with the OS.

For example, Microsoft has recently announced theme-aware live tiles in the Start menu, and this new facelift is already available in the preview builds of Windows 10, with the launch for production devices to happen at some point in the coming months.

In the meantime, it’s also no secret that users have been drooling after more advanced customization options for a long time, and here at Softpedia we occasionally highlight concepts that envision how Windows 10 as a whole can evolve in the direction expected by users.

This concept that we have here was published on reddit a few hours ago and is already gaining quite a lot of positive feedback, as it envisions additional polishing with a touch of extra blur that somehow seems to make sense.

Modern UI concept for Windows 10

While some say that this approach pushes Windows 10 even closer to macOS from a design perspective, which isn’t really wrong, to be honest, everything seems to come together quite nicely on this imaginary desktop. The live tiles themselves are also getting an update, though I’m not necessarily a big fan of the bold fonts in the user interface of an operating system.

The best thing Microsoft can do whenever such concepts go viral is to actually check them out, as they perfectly describe how users want Windows 10 to be improved in the first place.

The next feature update for Windows 10 is version 20H2, which is officially called October 2020 Update, and it is projected to launch as soon as this month. However, expect only little improvements in terms of looks, as the focus this time is on under the hood refinements.
