TENAA certification given to new iPhone model

We all know that the launch of the new iPhone generation is just around the corner, but if you still needed a confirmation in this regard, here it comes directly from China.

TENAA, which is the telecom watchdog in the country, has recently given its certification for an iPhone model known as A1920, which according to a report from HowToTechNaija, could be none other than the more-affordable configuration.

While this is clearly just a guess, the new iPhone lineup getting TENAA certification is an important milestone that had to be achieved and which suggests that it shouldn’t take too long before the device goes on sale.

Apple will unveil the new iPhones on September 12, and judging from the company’s typical roadmap, pre-orders could kick off as soon as September 14, which is the first Friday after the press conference. Shipments may start on September 21.

Interestingly enough, Apple could decide to hold back this more affordable iPhone for approximately one more month, so if this is indeed the A1920 model, the launch might not be so imminent.

iPhone models spotted online

The reason for this possible delay is Apple’s intention to offer exclusive time on the market to its premium devices launching this year. The company expects the lower-cost iPhone to account for more than 50 percent of all iPhone sales this year, and if this is the case, it doesn’t want the device to cannibalize the other two models in its lineup.

This isn’t the first time iPhone models are spotted in watchdog documents across the world, as several other models were discovered in the Eurasian database earlier this year as A1920, A1921, A1984, A2097, A2098, A2099 and A2101, A2103, A2104, A2105, and A2106.

It remains to be seen if this is indeed the LCD iPhone or not, but with only a week left until the public unveiling, it won’t take long until we find out the answer.
