Apple’s latest iPhone has a hard time against the new OP

Apple’s iPhone X is without a doubt one of the most powerful smartphones money can buy right now, but this doesn’t necessarily mean it’s also the most powerful.

But most of the time, people compare the iPhone X with Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and, starting more recently, with the Google Pixel 2, both of which come with high-end specs and features.

On the other hand, most people forget about OnePlus, the company that has already launched the highly-praised OnePlus 5 and which came back recently with the more substantially revised OnePlus 5T. And as it turns out, it’s not at all behind the iPhone X when it comes to performance.

YouTuber EverythingApplePro has posted a video to determine the speed of the iPhone X versus the OnePlus 5T, and as few people expected, the Apple device doesn’t win in all tests. Instead, the OnePlus 5T not only that holds up very well, but it also beats its competitor in several tests, proving that Apple actually has more than just a couple of rivals in terms of smartphone performance.

Usability problems making the iPhone X feel slower

The real-word speed test and benchmarks in the video might not be entirely accurate and relevant to each individual, but they do reveal a few usability issues that impact the way people use their iPhones.

Without a dedicated home button, the iPhone X not only that feels slower, but it really is slower when performing a series of tasks that involve going to the home screen first.

Because of the lack of a button, Apple has turned to a gesture which comes down to swiping up from the bottom of the screen, while launching multitasking is even more painful. To view and close running apps, one needs to swipe up from the bottom of the screen, rest the finger at the center of the display, firmly press a thumbnail to enable 3D Touch, and then swipe up to close the windows.

This appears to be quite a setback versus Android devices that come with on-screen controls, including the OnePlus 5T, so watch the video below to see how the two models perform in a real-world speed test.
