14 DAY TRIAL // The iPhone X will arrive at the doors of the first lucky buyers beginning next Friday, and it appears that Apple has already started cutting shipping times for customers in the United States who pre-ordered one of the two configurations.
But while the first boxes are being prepared for shipping, someone managed to shoot a unboxing video of the iPhone X, showing us what to expect when opening the box of the shiny new device for the first time.
While there’s little to see in this video, the video does show that Apple sticks with the existing packaging approach, with documents on top of the phone and a “Designed by Apple in California” tag that stands out when you first open the box. This has been the case of the last few iPhone generations and helps prevent accidents where devices are dropped to the ground when opening the box.
A small collection of photos that appear to be published from the same guy who recorded the video has also leaked to the web and you can check them out in the gallery after the jump.
iPhone X production struggles
In the meantime, Apple is said to be working around the clock to get more iPhone X units ready for customers, as the company admitted that demand has been fantastic since the first day of pre-orders.
CEO Tim Cook promised recently to do everything that’s possible to bring the iPhone X in the hands of customers faster, suggesting that some supply issues were indeed experienced. Analysts pointed to the facial recognition system as the one to blame for the production struggles, but they estimated all problems to be solved by the end of November.
This should translate to full production speed by year-end, with stocks to align with demand in early 2018, when sales are also expected to reach record levels for Apple.
Right now, if you pre-order an iPhone X from Apple’s website you only get it in about 6 weeks, though there’s a chance this time could be reduced depending on how fast the company prepares more units for shipping.
