This could be the new smallest Apple iPhone

Apple is now giving the finishing touches to a new iPhone SE model, and people familiar with the company’s plans claim the unveiling could take place at some point in the spring.

The new device could simply launch as iPhone SE 2022, and while most people call it iPhone SE 3, it will look pretty much just like the current model.

In other words, the iPhone SE 3 will look like the iPhone SE 2, which looked just like the super-old iPhone 8. This means the 4.7-inch screen isn’t going away just yet, with Apple to stick with a home button and Touch ID for one or two more years.

Renderings created by Concept Creator and LetsGoDigital provide us with a closer look at the upcoming iPhone SE, though given the information we mentioned above, it’s easy to anticipate what the whole thing is going to look like.

Launch in the spring

The device will continue to sport a 4.7-inch display, but of course, the more important upgrades will happen under the hood. The device will be equipped with a new-generation Apple Bionic chip, and it’ll feature 5G support.

Given Apple is killing off the iPhone mini, the new iPhone SE is therefore playing a key role in the coming lineup, as it becomes the only small iPhone that customers can purchase.

It’s believed the company would eventually make the switch to a larger iPhone SE, and sources with knowledge of the plans claim this could take place in 2023. The iPhone SE could therefore end up using the look of the iPhone 11, which means it’d give up on Touch ID and go for a notch with integrated Face ID.

Apple hasn’t confirmed any of the information we have here, so for the time being, it’s better to just take these tidbits with a healthy pinch of salt.
