Apple is said to reveal the iPhone 8 or iPhone X later this year and bring major design changes to the new smartphone, in order to mark the 10-year anniversary since the launch of the first iPhone. A concept video by YouTuber Armend shows what the phone might look like.

The concept video reveals the design of the supposed iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, showing the two phones with edge-to-edge OLED displays. It points to a 5-inch Full HD screen on the iPhone 8 and better sound output thanks to speakers placed on the top and bottom of the phone.

If the two models were to come with dual-edge displays, that would offer Apple the opportunity to add extra features to the side of the phone, similar to those on Galaxy S edge models. Dual-edge displays are usually associated with Samsung’s Galaxy S smartphones, but there are other companies that incorporated a similar design on their phones.

The iPhone 8 is said to come with OLED display from Samsung Display, which would allow Apple to feature a thinner design. The phone is expected to feature Touch ID embedded under the screen.

Smart connector and dual-camera setup

The dual-camera setup on the back of the iPhone 7 Plus made the phone quite popular among consumers, as it sold more units than the iPhone 7 model. The video shows a dual-camera setup on both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, along with a Smart Connector that would enable wireless charging. The display would be a 5-inch full HD unit for the iPhone 8 and a 5.8-inch 2K display for the larger iPhone 8 Plus or Edge, as it appears in the video.

The video also suggests 16MP rear sensors and 4k video recording, as well as Lightning ports on both phones. Aside from technical specs, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are imagined in 6 colors, Black, Jet Black, White, Gold, Rose Gold, and Red.

There’s no guarantee that the iPhone 8 will actually have these specs, but the concept video gives us an idea of how the phone might look with a dual-edge display and a thinner body.
