All iPhones that received iOS 14 will get iOS 15 as well

Apple has officially announced iOS 15, with the stable version projected to go live in September for all users. For the time being, however, the first testing build is only available for developers and beta users who want to try it out in advance and see what’s new.

The good news is that the release of iOS 15 doesn’t represent the end of another iPhone generation.

In other words, Apple will ship iOS 15 to all iPhone models that previously got iOS 14 as well, which means the iPhone 6s and newer will all receive the upcoming operating system.

The list of supported devices includes old-school iPhone models like the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, and the 7th-generation iPod touch. Needless to say, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus too will receive the upcoming iOS 15.

Some features may not be available

But on the other hand, while iOS 15 will indeed be available for the iPhone 6s and newer, some features might be offered to owners of older devices.

So if you want to experience the full magic of the new operating system, upgrading to a new-generation iPhone is pretty much the easiest way to do it, especially given the difference in terms of performance.

So when is Apple planning to give up on the iPhone 6s? Most likely, the next-next version of iOS will be the one abandoning this old iPhone model, which means iOS 15 could be the last major update this particular model is actually receiving.
