Apple’s upcoming iPhone lineup is expected to come with plenty of changes, and one of the most notable concerns the top-of-the-range configuration.

This is because the company plans to rename the iPhone Pro Max to iPhone Ultra, therefore creating a little bit more consistency in its lineup.

The iPhone 15 Ultra will be the only one carrying the Ultra moniker. In other words, the upcoming family of iPhones could include the standard iPhone 15, the bigger iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Ultra.

In many ways, the new approach simplifies the naming approach that Apple uses for the iPhone, but at the same time, it also helps the company create one almighty configuration that will excel in all regards.

Information coming from LeaksApplePro reveals that the iPhone 15 Ultra will start at 256GB of storage and will come with USB-C instead of Lightning – the change is also believed to be planned for the rest of the lineup.

Apple is also working on additional design improvements, so for instance, the device might come with a rounded bezel design. This change, however, is still said to be in an early phase, so don’t be too surprised if it doesn’t happen.

On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Ultra is likely to be a truly premium device. This is the reason the Cupertino-based tech giant plans to use titanium for the case, so eventually, the device could also end up more expensive.

Needless to say, the Ultra could also come with some exclusive capabilities, especially as with this new naming approach, the parent company might be trying to create a clearer separation between its models. The iPhone Pro could therefore become a second-class citizen of the lineup, as the Ultra would be the latest and greatest Apple has to offer at the time of the release.
