Apple is fully committed to making the iPhone 14 a big hit, but in the meantime, the company is also working on the very next iPhone model due in the fall of 2023.

iPhone 15 is expected to come with some massive upgrades, including the switch from Lightning to USB-C, mostly as a result of the new regulations that come into effect in Europe beginning in 2024.

But according to a report from TrendForce, iPhone 15 is expected to come with some other important hardware upgrades, including as far as the memory is concerned.

For instance, the Pro models are very likely to be upgraded to 8GB of RAM, the report reads. The Pro Max is also expected to sport a periscope camera, though it’s currently unclear whether the same feature would also make its way to the 6.1-inch Pro model as well.

“Looking forward to the iPhone 15 series, TrendForce indicates that Apple will maintain a four new model release schedule featuring two processors to further differentiate between standard and high-end models,” the report reads.

“In terms of specifications, in addition to the comprehensive switch from lightning to Type C connectors which is already known, chances are high that the Pro series will feature a memory capacity upgrade to 8GB to match its new processor and continue camera specifications improvements including upgrading its main camera to 8P and the use a periscope lens in the Pro Max model. As for Apple's in-house 5G modem, the company will continue using a Qualcomm model because its mmWave signal test results cannot meet Apple’s requirements. The company’s self-developed 5G modem is expected to be officially introduced in 2024.”

As per Apple’s typical release calendar, iPhone 15 is projected to be announced in September 2023, with the sales to kick off shortly after that.
