Apple is projected to take the wraps off a new iPhone generation in September, and while the company obviously remains tight-lipped about this anticipated unveiling, there’s a lot that’s being discussed out there on the world wide web.

A recent tweet published by @Shadow_Leak is supposed to provide us with an early look at the technical specifications of the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup, and just as expected, there’s little surprise in there.

Before anything, let me remind you that 2022 is going to bring the demise of the iPhone mini form factor. Apple will no longer offer a 5.4-inch iPhone but instead will introduce a larger iPhone 14 Max that be a bigger version of the standard iPhone 14.

The upcoming models

According to the leak, the cheapest model will be the iPhone 14. As an upgraded version of the iPhone 13, it will come with a 6.06-inch (the world will call it a 6.1-inch panel) flexible OLED screen. It will be powered by an A15 Bionic chip paired with 6GB of RAM.

Then, it’s the all-new iPhone 14 Max that will be fitted with a 6.68-inch (or 6.7-inch) flexible OLED screen. Once again, the power will come from an A15 Bionic chip paired with 6GB of RAM.

The Pro models are the ones getting more important upgrades. The iPhone 14 Pro will sport a 6.1-inch OLED LTPO screen, and once again the same processor and RAM mix. The iPhone 14 Pro Max will get a 6.7-inch screen, once again LTPO.

These specifications seem to suggest that only the iPhone Pro models will support 120Hz refresh rates, and this makes perfect sense. Previous reports claimed the standard versions would even retain a notch, whereas the new models will go for a punch-hole approach with everything embedded into the screen.
