Apple has a hard time to align production with demand

The demand for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max remains as strong as it gets, with new analyst information revealing that the waiting times for these devices in big markets just keep increasing.

Analyst David Vogt from investment bank UBS says the waiting time for the iPhone 14 Pro and the Pro Max is now at 25 days, up 5 days from the previous month. This happens in the United States, where the two models are particularly successful.

The same in China, where the waiting times are up to no less than 24 days.

While the demand is obviously growing, Apple is also struggling with production issues, especially in China. The country is facing new lockdowns, and Foxconn’s main factory in the country could therefore build fewer units than originally anticipated. The analyst expects the iPhone output to be impacted in the December quarter.

Apple launched the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max with much fanfare in September, and the company highlighted its premium capabilities from the very beginning, emphasizing the difference versus the standard iPhone 14 and the all-new iPhone 14 Plus.

“Powered by A16 Bionic, the fastest chip ever in a smartphone, iPhone 14 Pro introduces a new class of pro camera system, with the first-ever 48MP Main camera on iPhone featuring a quad-pixel sensor, and Photonic Engine, an enhanced image pipeline that dramatically improves low-light photos. These groundbreaking advancements make iPhone even more indispensable for everyday tasks, creative projects, and now even emergency situations with features such as Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection. iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be available in four gorgeous new finishes: deep purple, silver, gold, and space black,” Apple said.

The company hasn’t commented on the production challenges, but clearly, the company is working around the clock on bringing as many iPhones in the hands of customers as possible.
