The device could therefore be upgraded from 6GB of RAM

Apple’s 2022 iPhone lineup will come with several important changes, as the Cupertino-based tech giant will kill off the 5.4-inch size and therefore discontinue the iPhone mini once and for all.

However, the iPhone 14 lineup will continue to include four different models, this time with a rather different approach, as it follows:

  • iPhone 14 – 6.1-inch screen with a notch
  • iPhone 14 Max – 6.7-inch screen with a notch
  • iPhone 14 Pro – 6.1-inch screen with a punch-hole design
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max – 6.7-inch screen with a punch-hole design

The Cupertino-based tech giant will therefore introduce several big changes, especially on the Pro models, which will now come with a more modern design based on a concept previously used by Android device manufacturers as well.

But according to Haitong International Securities Jeff Pu, Apple is also planning some pretty noteworthy upgrades under the hood as well.

In a note obtained by MacRumors, the analyst explains the iPhone 14 Pro models are likely to sport 48-megapixel cameras and an upgrade to 8GB of RAM in order to support 8K video recording.

Oddly enough, the iPhone 14 models would all feature 120Hz ProMotion displays, but some would come with just 64 GB of storage. This is rather unexpected, especially because the storage options on the iPhone 13 currently start at 128GB.

If this is indeed happening, then Apple is probably trying to make the iPhone 14 a little bit more affordable, and a 64GB storage model would allow the company to drop the price by around $100.

However, given the improved cameras, 64GB of storage simply isn’t enough for the new iPhones, so if the company indeed releases such a model, then the Cupertino-based tech giant is very likely to bet big on cloud storage.

The debut of the new iPhone generation is due in September next year.
