iPhone 14 is the next big launch prepared by Apple, so it’s no surprise more and more rumors regarding this model keep making the headlines.

This time, new information comes from analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities.

Pu explained in an investor note seen by 9to5Mac that the development of the iPhone 14 hasn’t been affected by the Shenzhen lockdown, so the process makes a good process, with no delay so far.

At this point, the iPhone 14 is in the EVT (engineering validation and testing) phase, though it goes without saying we’re still far from the moment when Apple will start the mass production of the device.

Four iPhones launching this year

Just like in 2021, the iPhone 14 generation will bring us a lineup of four separate models, though the series will witness one very important change versus its processor.

The 5.4-inch iPhone is being ditched, as Apple no longer wants to invest in a new iPhone mini model. In return, the company will launch a new large iPhone that will be marketed as a “base” model without the Pro tag. It’ll be called iPhone 14 Max and come with a 6.7-inch display, just like the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

In other words, the upcoming lineup will include two 6.1-inch models – iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro Max – as well as two 6.7-inch versions – iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The standard models will continue to feature a notch, whereas the Pro versions will switch to a punch-hole design similar to the one used on Samsung flagships. This way, Apple can increase the screen estate, with all front-facing parts to be integrated directly into the glass.

All models will be announced in September and, if no delay is encountered, they should all go on sale later the same month.
