Apple is obviously working on a new-generation iPhone, and as compared to the 2020 generation when the new models were launched in October and November, the company wants to return to the typical September release date for its flagship product.

The launch of the iPhone 12 was substantially impacted by the global health crisis which has slowed down the planning phase and forced some Apple suppliers to reduce the production and, in some cases, to push back certain phases of the iPhone production plans.

Eventually, the Cupertino-based tech giant had no other option than to delay the iPhone launch altogether, so the company decided to embrace a phased rollout for the new lineup, with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro announced in October, followed by the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max in November.

Back to the original schedule

Things are supposed to change for the iPhone 13 lineup, and previous reports on this have been confirmed by Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives who believes the new model would launch the third week of September.

However, Ives himself admits that due to possible model tweaks, Apple could choose to unveil the new devices in very early October, though right now, the Cupertino-based tech giant is aiming for a September announcement.

Interestingly, Wedbush believes iPhone 13 would come with substantial upgrades in terms of storage, with Apple to introduce a 1TB version on at least one model. There’s a chance the 1TB option would only be offered on the Pro models though.

iPhone 13 could also come with a smaller notch and better cameras, and Ives believes Apple will build 25 percent more devices as it expects the demand to grow not only for its devices but also for smartphones equipped with 5G capabilities.
