The new models will launch next month, it seems

Apple is getting ready to launch its new iPhone 13, and according to a new analyst report, there’s a good chance the company would finally include a 1TB version at least for the Pro models.

People familiar with the matter said this year’s iPhone lineup would come with four models as well, just like the previous generation, starting with an iPhone mini and then continuing with an iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The Pro models are therefore expected to get a 1TB version, according to Wedbush analysts.

“From a spec perspective, we have increased confidence that iPhone 13 will have an eye-popping 1 terabyte storage option which is double from the highest Pro storage capacity today (512GB) and will also include a number of key enhancements with Lidar across all iPhone 13 models,” the analysts believe.

Apple is very likely to return to its typical September announcement for the iPhone 13, as the company wants to return to its regular launch calendar after the massive delays experienced last year.

Invitations to be sent in early September

In 2020, Apple announced the new iPhones in October, with some models eventually getting the go-ahead in November due to production struggles experience by Apple partners.

“Our recent Asia supply chain checks for 2H put iPhone builds between 130M-150M. The iPhone 13 appears to represent 35%-45% of iPhone builds in Q3, this positive outlook gives us enhanced confidence that 2021’s launch timing will be “normal.” From a timing perspective, we believe the current iPhone 13 launch is slated for the third week in September. From the iPhone 5 to iPhone 8, each year’s models were available in September. Things changed with the iPhone X, however, and since then it’s been unclear whether availability of particular models would be September, October, or November,” the analysts believe.

Apple has obviously remained tight-lipped on everything, but a confirmation should be provided in early September when the company starts sending out invites for the iPhone 13 launch event.
