Apple is projected to launch the new iPhone 12 generation next month, but up to this point, nobody knows exactly when the big announcement is supposed to be made.

But according to new information obtained by MacRumors, the unveiling could happen in the coming days.

Marc Allera, the CEO of British Telecom's consumer brands BT and EE, said in a digital meeting with employees that the company aims to become Apple’s number one partner in Europe for the iPhone 12.

“We are just days away from Apple's next major launch, a 5G iPhone, which will be a huge boost for 5G,” he was quoted as saying. “Teams in all parts of Consumer have been preparing all year to win this launch, and be Europe's number one partner for Apple.”

According to the rumor mill, Apple could announce the iPhone 12 on October 13, while the pre-order program could take place just as expected the very next Friday. In other words, customers who want the iPhone 12 can pre-order it beginning with October 16, while the shipping would begin a week later.

Four iPhones launching this year

Apple is projected to launch four different iPhones this year, starting with a new small model that would feature a 5.4-inch display.

There will be two different 6.1-inch iPhones going live this year, one of which would be a successor to the iPhone 11. The other will be an upgraded iPhone 11 Pro.

The top-of-the-range model will be the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which will boast a 6.7-inch display. People familiar with the matter said Apple could also launch a non-5G iPhone in the spring of 2021, this time with the focus to be on the price, as the company wants this device to be more affordable than the 5G- capable configurations.
