As reported earlier, Apple seeded the fifth Beta builds of its upcoming iOS 11, macOS High Sierra 10.13, watchOS 4, and tvOS 11 operating systems to registered developers, and we promised to tell you what's new in iOS 11 Beta 5.

The guys over at MacRumors are again the first to offer us a preview of the user visible changes Apple introduced in the fifth iOS 11 Beta update, and it looks like the biggest change is the removal of the iCloud Messages feature that allowed you to store your iMessages in iCloud to free up space on your iDevice.

"The “Messages in iCloud” feature has been removed in iOS 11 beta 5 and will ship in a future software update to iOS 11. Users can continue to receive and store messages on each device, and they can continue to backup and restore messages using iCloud Backup," Apple noted in the release notes for iOS 11 Beta 5 on your Apple Developer account.

The revamping of the icons for the default apps continues in the Beta 5 update of iOS 11 with new designs for the Camera and Settings apps, and it would appear that there's a new "pulsating indicator" in Control Center's Music app that lists all nearby audio sources when it's tapped, including AirPods and Apple TV devices.

Screen Recording indicator bar goes red

Among other notable changes that landed in the iOS 11 Beta 5 update, we can mention that the Screen Recording indicator bar is now displayed in red color instead of blue to be more visible when recording your iOS device's screen. Of course, more bugs were squashed and security issues addressed.

MacRumors has some screenshots on the new features of iOS 11 Beta 5 if you want to see them in action, and you can also watch the video below. While iOS 11 Beta 5 is currently available only to registered developers, public beta testers will get all these changes very soon as Apple will release the fourth Public Beta of iOS 11 tomorrow morning.
