Designer imagines some changes for next Apple products

Apple’s expected to take the wraps off both iPhone 7 and iOS 10 later this year, with a first preview likely to be offered at WWDC in the summer, but the CIA-like secrecy that the company embraces provides us with zero details about these new products.

And yet, concept designers around the world are hard at work to imagine new ways to enhance the iPhone, iOS, or Apple Watch, and this is exactly the case of this project made by Ralph Theodory.

Basically, Theodory envisioned updates for the essential software products in Apple’s lineup, including iOS and WatchOS, two of the platforms that should be improved this year by Cupertino too.

iOS 10 and WatchOS 3

First and foremost, iOS 10 should come with what the designer calls “Smart Info Cam,” a new feature that would allow the camera app to automatically detect information such as barcodes, QR codes, and more in order to search online for details and display them to users. So, for instance, you can scan a barcode and instantly get info such as weight, price, and calories of a specific product.

Furthermore, to make the iPhone more secure, iOS 10 could come with a tweak that would require users to enter the passcode or rescan their fingerprint when changing key settings, such as contacts. And what’s more, users could also get improved control of the pre-installed apps, so they’ll have the ability to fully remove some unnecessary preloaded iOS apps and thus gain more space - which is quite critical for those with 16 GB iPhones.

As far as WatchOS 3 is concerned, it goes without saying that Apple must offer more faces for the Watch, as this is currently one of the biggest annoyances of the device. Everyone expected Apple to unveil more faces at its March event, but it appears that the company is holding back this feature for the release of the next major iteration of the OS.

For the moment, this is just a well-designed concept that brings forward some pretty good ideas, so iFans can only hope that Apple sees and implements them in the future versions of its products.
