14 DAY TRIAL // Last week, on September 7, 2016, Apple unveiled its new iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and Apple Watch Series 2 devices, as well as the official release dates for the next-gen iOS 10 and watchOS 3 operating systems.
After seeding the GM (Golden Master) builds of all of its upcoming operating systems, including iOS 10, macOS 10.12 Sierra, tvOS 10, and watchOS 3, to developers enrolled in the Apple Developer program, as well as public beta testers on September 7 and September 8, respectively, the Cupertino company is now unleashing the final versions of iOS 10 and watchOS 3, as macOS Sierra is coming September 20, 2016.
Yes, you're reading it right, the final release of the iOS 10 mobile operating system is finally here for iPhone 5 and higher, iPad Mini 2 or later, iPad Air, iPad Pro, iPod touch 4th and 6th generation models, and you can update from iOS 9 or later (iOS 9.3.5 is the last update for the iOS 9 series) right now. However, if you are already using the GM build mentioned above, you won't get the update because they're identical.
watchOS 3 requires iOS 10
The watchOS 3 operating system for Apple Watch Series 1 and Apple Watch Series 2 smartwatches is now available as well, but to get it you'll first need to update your iPhone device to iOS 10. Of course, the Apple Watch Series 2 device will come with watchOS 3 pre-installed, but you are still required to upgrade to iOS 10 on your iPhone if you want to sync and update it to new maintenance versions.
If you haven't had the chance to install any of the Public Beta builds of iOS 10, we recommend taking a look at the screenshots below to get an idea of what's new because there are many cool features, and probably the most important one is the ability to remove many of the default apps. So, open the Setting app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, go to the General section, access the Software Updates area, and install the iOS 10 operating system. Please note that the entire process will take a while to finish.
