Indian OEM Intex is back with yet another affordable smartphone for those who never owned an Android-powered handset. The Aqua Craze can hardly be an upgrade for another Android smartphone unless that device was launched a few years ago.

The Aqua Craze will be available for purchase in India for just Rs 6,190 outright, which is about $90 or €80. According to a new report, the smartphone can be had in three color options: Grey, Champagne Gold and White.

The most appealing features included in the Aqua Craze is 4G LTE support and Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system that comes preloaded. Obviously, if you plan on getting this cheap handset, don't expect any major updates.

Unimpressive specs even for a low-end smartphone

When it comes to specs, Intex Aqua Craze is totally unimpressive even for a budget-friendly smartphone. The device comes equipped with a 64-bit 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor, coupled with a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The Aqua Craze packs only 8GB of internal memory, but users can expand storage via microSD card slot (up to 32GB).

Also, the smartphone sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. There's also an 8-megapixel camera on the back that features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front.

Intex Aqua Craze offers dual-SIM support and VAS feature that enables communication in 21 regional languages. The smartphone is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery and includes connectivity options like Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0, GPS with AGPS support, and FM Radio.

“Aqua Craze is a brilliant device from the house of Intex and is a true delight for the consumers. The affordable 4G smartphone has features which will leave the consumers spell-bound.

“We are honoured and delighted that this latest offering from Intex has been launched by the honorable Secretary, DoT. This will surely act as an impetus for us and encourage us further in our ‘Make in India’ journey,” said Mr. Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business head, Intex Technologies.
