The Russian military invasion in Ukraine has been received with massive sanctions by the international community, and companies out there have one by one condemned the war.

Furthermore, a growing number of companies from pretty much every sector decided to leave Russia as a way to protest against the war, with Intel the latest big name to suspend all business operations in the country.

Previously, Intel suspended shipments to both Russia and Belarus, but now the company is halting all its Russian operations.

Intel has over 1,200 employees in Russia

In a statement released this week, Intel explains that it’s working on finding more effective ways of supporting everybody involved, including its more than 1,200 employees at its Russian offices.

“Intel continues to join the global community in condemning Russia’s war against Ukraine and calling for a swift return to peace. Effective immediately, we have suspended all business operations in Russia. This follows our earlier decision to suspend all shipments to customers in Russia and Belarus,” Intel said.

“Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted by this war, particularly the people of Ukraine and the surrounding countries and all those around the world with family, friends and loved ones in the region. “We are working to support all of our employees through this difficult situation, including our 1,200 employees in Russia. We have also implemented business continuity measures to minimize disruption to our global operations.”

Of course, Intel isn’t the only company that took such a decision, and other tech giants, including Apple, Microsoft, and Google, also stopped offering products in the Russian market.

Furthermore, Microsoft is also working with Ukrainian experts on blocking cyberattacks, as the company says it has recorded an increase in the number of such attempts since the military invasion started.
