Windows11Upgrade is a new tool to bypass requirements

One of the most controversial things about Windows 11 is the updated set of system requirements, as Microsoft says that only new hardware would be able to take full advantage of the improvements that are part of this release.

And while insiders claim otherwise, as some unsupported PCs ended up running Windows 11 preview builds just smoothly, Microsoft has implemented a set of restrictions that make it harder to install the new operating system on ineligible devices.

This is why the release of Windows11Upgrade comes in so handy. In essence one of the many apps letting you to install the new operating system on an unsupported computer, this free app allows you to move to Windows 11 just like you’d do the same thing from Windows 10.

In other words, you’re allowed to choose if you want to perform an upgrade and save apps and data, install Windows 11 by only saving data and not apps, or just perform a clean install automatically using a downloaded ISO of the new operating system.

The system requirements check is bypassed by the app, so even if you don’t meet them, you should be able to install Windows 11 just fine – though on old computers you could obviously end up struggling with all kinds of problems.

Microsoft’s advice: don’t do it, but here are the steps anyway

Microsoft, on the other hand, doesn’t recommend installing Windows 11 on an unsupported computer, but the company has decided to share the steps on how to do it anyway.

“Microsoft recommends against installing Windows 11 on a device that does not meet the Windows 11 minimum system requirements. If you choose to install Windows 11 on a device that does not meet these requirements, and you acknowledge and understand the risks, you can create the following registry key values and bypass the check for TPM 2.0 (at least TPM 1.2 is required) and the CPU family and model,” Microsoft says.

The rollout of Windows 11 is currently under way, with Microsoft planning to complete it by the summer of 2022.
