“You can become the Steve Jobs of Microsoft”

There are many ways to go viral online these days, but India’s Rahul Gandhi seems to have found the fastest one.

Before anything, for readers who’ve never heard of Rahul Gandhi, he is the Vice-President of the Indian National Congress party and the Chairperson of the Indian Youth Congress and the National Students Union of India. In short, he is the vice-president of the Indian National Congress Party and one of the prime ministerial candidates.

This means he knows a thing or two about politics, but in a recent speech at the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) in Mumbai, he pretty much proved that he has zero knowledge of technology or companies that are involved in this business.

Steve Jobs of what?

Speaking to young students who dream to become a well-known figure one day, Gandhi said the following:

“One day you’re going to run this country, run the institutions, you will be the Steve Jobs of Microsoft and the leaders… the Facebook of this country…”

That’s right, the country’s VP of the Congress believes that Microsoft was founded by none other than Steve Jobs (we hope Gandhi’s actually reading this, so let’s set things clear: Microsoft was founded by Bill Gates, Apple was founded by Steve Jobs; so Microsoft - Bill Gates, Apple - Steve Jobs).

It didn’t take too long before this thing went viral online, and there are plenty of funny remarks and posts concerning the Steve Jobs of Microsoft, including the video you can find at the end of the article.

We’re pretty sure Gandhi would love to go back in time and fix this, but the Internet is a cruel world. Nothing escapes unpunished these days, especially if you’re such a well-known politician.

We’ve reached out to Apple CEO Bill Gates to see if he has any comments to make on this new blunder.
