Concept imagines an Apple Watch with a bigger display

The new Apple Watch Series 4 is expected to come with several major changes, including design refinements that would bring it in line with Apple’s new visual upgrade already available on the iPhone X.

This basically comes down to bigger displays and smaller bezels, a design approach than in turn allows for several new features, as it’s the case of the facial recognition system on the anniversary iPhone.

In other words, with a visual makeover the Apple Watch Series 4 could also get a bigger screen and smaller bezels, and a concept that was published this week on YouTube shows what the whole thing could look like if it gets the go-ahead to be implemented.

Needless to say, there is no guarantee that this is exactly the design that Apple will embrace for the next-generation Watch, but rumor has it that the company is indeed planning a bigger edge-to-edge screen.

Bigger watches, new features

At the same time, it’s believed Apple wants to increase the size of the two versions and thus also offer bigger screen estate. While the current generations are available in 38mm and 42mm sizes, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 4 could be sold in 40mm and 45mm.

As for features, the new Apple Watch will probably come with an improved heart rate monitoring sensor, and Cupertino wants to focus more on the fitness capabilities of the device. There’s a chance swimming support will be improved, hence better water resistance, and the Apple Watch could finally get sleep tracking as well.

As for the debut of the device, nothing is certain right now, but with Apple taking the wraps off the new iPhone generation in September, there’s a chance this would be the moment when the new Watch sees daylight as well. More information, however, should emerge in the coming weeks as we get closer to the rumored launch date.
