Indian OEM iBall has just announced the upcoming availability of its next phablet, the Slide Cuddle A4. Although it's been tagged as a phablet, the new device is in fact placed at the threshold between smartphones and tablets.

The new iBall Slide Cuddle A4 boasts a huge 6.95-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1024 x 600 pixels resolution. That's only 0.05-inch less than the smallest tablet available on the market.

Since the difference is negligible, we can easily take the iBall Slide Cuddle A4 as a 7-inch tablet with GSM voice calls capabilities.

Anyway, according to a new report, iBall Slide Cuddle A4 will soon be available on the market for Rs 9,699 outright, which is around $150 or €135.

The 6.95-inch display, while impressive, is not the phone's main strong point. iBall's smartphone's is equipped with a 1.7GHz octa-core processor, which is complemented by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

It comes with support for 21 regional languages

Unfortunately, the smartphone ships with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box. On the bright side, the Slide Cuddle A4 offers dual-SIM support, as well as 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS with AGPS.

On the back, iBall Slide Cuddle A4 packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls.

It's also worth mentioning that the phablet is powered by a 2,800 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

“With growing needs, users are looking for 2Gb Ram tablet too apart from smart phones. iBall Introduces iBall Slide Cuddle A4 with 2GB Ram + 16GB storage – a tablet with powerful performance and powerful specifications to provide a Powerful yet cuddling experience,” said Sandeep Parasrampuria, director, iBall.
