Very realistically custom painted

For most users, their computer display is just a peripheral, an extension of their machine. However, for others (gamers, especially), the monitor is the gateway to a whole new world and this is the reason why it should reflect, to some extent, its user's personality. That's exactly the case with the monitors from iZ3D, which, besides being able to display images in three dimensions (with the help of some special glasses) are also available in some really attractive custom-painted and modded versions.

All of the iZ3D 3D monitors (regardless of their external appearance) share the same basic features. Thus, we're talking about 22-inch panels, which provide 1680 x 1050 pixel resolutions and a 5 ms response time (not particularly impressive for a gaming-oriented LCD monitor).

The brightness and the contrast ratio are also more or less mainstream (250 cd/m2 and 700:1, respectively), while the viewing angles are actually quite OK, namely 120 degrees on horizontal and 90 degrees on vertical direction, respectively.

What's really important about these monitors is the fact that they can display into-screen and out-of-screen 3D images with passive polarized glasses. The iZ3D screens are designed to replace standard two-dimensional monitors while maintaining commercial image quality and display brightness and they work with a very large number of applications, whether we're talking about movies, games, 3D entertainment and even 3D design.

As mentioned earlier, users who want to stand out from a crowd can also go for a custom-painted model, which, however, will necessitate around 3-4 weeks of work prior to delivery.

As you might have expected, the 3D monitors from iZ3D are more expensive than your ordinary, everyday peripherals, retailing for around 600 US dollars a piece. However, if you really want your monitor to look like a hot-rod, you'll have to cough up an additional 140 US dollars (custom-painted version sells for $740).

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
