Although Apple officials have not made any announcement, there are voices claiming the launching of iTunes Australia is a matter of days.

One of those voices certifying the launching of the service on April 28 is the actor Russell Crowe, who said during a radio show that Australians will be able to buy music from iTunes with 1.80 Australian dollars per song.

Anyway, Apple Computer Australia is now listed as the owner of the site www.itunes.com.au, but the address is not functional.

Even so, the Australian newspaper The Age has announced that Chris Howard from Wangaratta might be the first Australian to have downloaded the fist song from iTunes using a credit card emitted in Australia.

Apple has already signed contracts with some local radio stations to airplay a series of spot announcements, starting with Thursday afternoon. It seems Thursday will also be the day for iTunes Switzerland, but the information published by Music.ch has not been confirmed by an Apple representative. In Switzerland, iPod has 80% of the hard disk mp3 player market.

Mac fans from Switzerland hope that by April 28 they will be able to download songs for 1.25 Swiss francs, the equivalent of 99 American cents.

Music.ch also informs that iTunes will also be launched in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
