Last year, iTunes Music Store had a major and unprecedented evolution (which coincided with the launch of the 5th generation of iPods). It started offering TV shows for download, for the usually small fee that ITMS used to have.

What started pretty slow with shows like "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives" changed dramatically. In less than one year since the launch of the service, a large amount of shows are available for download. The big US networks like ABC, Disney Channel, ComedyCentral, ESPN, MTV, NBC, The Sci-Fi Channel. The number of broadcasters interested in providing portable content is rising every day.

There are more than 40 different series available for download, usually the next day after airing, at a price of US$1.99 each.

It seems that the power of podcasting is rising since "The Office" was moved on Thursday night (a increase in the audience), just after adding the show to ITMS. Albert Cheng, the executive vice-president of digital media at Disney-ABC television group mentioned an increase of ratings for all the titles that were made available via ITMS.

Now, after the change in the ownership of Pixar, and of course, with Steve Jobs at Disney we will definitely see an increase of quality material on ITMS.
