For those looking forward to more updates every day, Apple has released iTunes 7.6.1., adding improved compatibility with Apple TV software version 2.0., aka Take 2, but also fixing a number of bugs. The company has notified its customers that they will also be offering a $0.99 movie rental every Thursday, while the special price is available 'till Monday the next week.

The rest of the stuff, as you can imagine, hasn't changed one bit, since everything else worked just fine:

"Rent and download your favorite movies with iTunes on your computer or directly to your living room on Apple TV. Enjoy rented movies in sizes up to 720p HD with surround sound on your Apple TV and sizes up to DVD-quality on your computer. Transfer your rented movies from iTunes to your iPod or iPhone and enjoy them on the go.

Also, purchase and download your favorite TV shows, music, and more directly on your Apple TV. Effortlessly transfer purchases made on Apple TV back to your computer with iTunes," says the included description.

As for the new movie-rental offer, the 30-day rule applies here too. Once rented, you have 30 days to watch the $0.99 movie. However, from the moment you first hit play, you only have 24 hours of availability for it. This week's movie rental is The Hours.

iTunes is the service where you can buy music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, or download free podcasts from the iTunes Store 24/7. Users can also organize and play everything on their Mac or PC and can also sync it to their iPod/iPhone and take music and video with them anywhere.

You can update to iTunes 7.6.1. by choosing Software Update in the Apple Menu.
