In case you might not remember, iRiver acquired the Siren brand at the beginning of the year. Nothing unusual here! Well, apparently the company suddenly decided to launch their first DAP under this brand, but that doesn't mean the new player eventually dubbed DP250. It sports different design details or features that iRiver used before, which means they might focus on other types of customers.

Besides revealing the same active sporty, yet simple design features, the player will have an incorporated 400mW speaker built-in and the usual FM transmitter, which is said to allow the tunes to work with some other speakers models. Among other technical details in the specification list, there is also a voice, line-in and FM radio recording, meaning the favorite Howard Stern shows are going to be nicely stored for later listening.

The player is going to be released in various color versions, to match any taste consumers may have, and will come in different storage capacities of 1GB and 2GB for price tags around 85 bucks and $120, respectively.

As for the music capabilities, I would say we should expect for the same stuff the iRiver already got us used. But, hey, the recording and the broadcasting new features are definitely going to add some big points.

And let's not forget the minuscule built-in display that keeps the track of your playback. Not to mention the company claims we should expect around 18 hours of playtime on a single recharge.

Regarding the availability details, the iRiver player was announced to go on sale on September 7.

All in all, this player doesn't really take my breath away and it is certainly not the most innovative device to come out of the IFA. Still, some iRiver devotees could find the DAP an interesting addition in the company's portfolio.
