iRiver revealed the T50, its latest ultra-portable flashed-based music player. The T 50 music player comes after the awkwardly designed T 10. It comes in 2 flavors (white and black). The control buttons seem easier to operate than the ones from T 50. It has a sporty design and an extremely tiny but bright color screen: a 1-inch LCD display (65,000 colors).

The visual interface looks better than the one T 10 holds. It's vivid enough to display BMP files (24 bits or less). Music playback is supported for Mp3/OGG/WMA tracks. It also has an FM tuner and a high sensitivity microphone. The 1 GB disk can store up to 72 hours of voice recording, about 240 tunes and approximately 18 hours of music recording time. The AAA battery can help the device whistle your favorite tunes for 52 hours.

You can also hook it to your PC via USB 2.0 and use Windows Media Player 11 to transfer music to your iRiver player (only on OS Windows 2000/XP). The device also comes with a headphone output, allowing you to listen what the unchosen-ones can't. Its signal-to-noise ratio "tech" stuff will set the desired music sound level comparing it to the level of background noise. There's no need to worry about teachers screaming at you anymore. Anyway, it's light enough for them to let it go, about 49 g (with battery included).

Make sure you book a flight to Japan if you really want it this spring. The device will rise there on April 14th (that's a Saturday by the way). It will also be available everywhere "later". The Iriver T50 will cost you around 85$.
