Add style to your pants and listen to music while you're at it

A well known unofficial apple weblog is reporting that several readers were able to order the newly introduced 2GB iPod shuffle from Apple (like there's another company that produces iPod shuffle... eh). The Apple Store says your order takes the form of an iPod shuffle at your door within 7 to 10 days.

Who orders an iPod shuffle and waits for 10 days to receive it anyway? I mean, if you decide to get one, that makes it a bit of a sudden decision, doesn't it? You don't exactly stuff cash under the mattress for a shuffle, if you know what I mean (sure, for an iPod touch/iPhone...). It's 70 bucks for the 2GB model, and just 50 for the lower end, 1GB SKU. But what the heck, the more ways you can purchase a gadget, the better.

Thanks to the built-in clip, iPod shuffle goes with anything, as Apple themselves claim: "clip it to your sleeve, lapel, coin pocket. No matter where you wear it, iPod shuffle speaks volumes about your style."

The headphone jack does double-duty as a dock connector. Flip iPod shuffle upside-down and drop it into the included dock. Connect the dock to your Mac or PC for a quick sync and charge. And if you're away from the computer, you can charge on the go using the optional Apple USB power adapter.

"At just $49, the iPod shuffle is the most affordable iPod ever," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing, at the time the new model was introduced. "The new 2GB model lets music lovers bring even more songs everywhere they go in the impossibly small iPod shuffle."

You can also nab a 1GB shuffle for free, buying a $494 iPod touch in the process. Or should I put it the other way round...?
