AT&T customers accessing the operator’s web site this Friday should be ecstatic to find Black Friday Deals on Apple's iPhone which starts at just $49 for a 3GS model, and at $99 for the iPhone 4 - a full 50% off the original price of a new handset. Albeit, customers still need to tie their purchase to a 2 year contract with the carrier. In-store purchases can also be made.

A report by OS X Daily points out that holiday shoppers should really consider taking advantage of the latest offer from AT&T, which nabs them the world’s most popular smartphone (heck, the world’s most popular gadget altogether) for prices so low even Steve Jobs will want to grab one.

The site lists the following Black Friday prices on refurbished iPhones which should go live on November 26 (tomorrow).

iPhone 4 32G Refurb – Sale: $199 (normally $249) iPhone 4 16G Refurb – Sale: $99 (normally $149) iPhone 3GS 8G Refurb – Sale: $49 (normally $79)

For those who don’t know much about refurbished products, they are pre-owned products that undergo a stringent refurbishment process, prior to being offered for sale. At Apple, these are returned under Apple's Return and Refund Policies.

While only some units are brought back because of technical issues, all of them undergo a rigorous quality-refurbishment process. Service and support include 90 days of telephone support and a one-year warranty.

While many will be enticed by the admittedly attractive price of $49 for an 8GB 3GS iPhone, it may be wiser for those looking to save a buck this Friday to go for the newest hardware out there - the iPhone 4.

The device has, by far, much higher specifications than the 3GS, as well as unique features like dual cameras and a built-in camera flash, not to mention the incredibly crisp Retina Display. It is also the only Apple handset that will likely support all iOS software updates two years from now.

Just keep your fingers crossed for any “antennagate” and / or proximity sensor issues (wink).
