And the iPhone Shuffle

Apple has managed to pack in their only phone model ever produced most of the sound performances which their iPod managed to bring until now. All great, but rumors are already discussing the possibility of having in the near future an iPhone Nano, just as it happened with the music player some while ago.

The iPhone has proved to be a highly expensive device for many people, although it has still managed to reach record sales rates in the first week of its launch. Apple might be considering making a cheaper but less capable version of the iPhone as to respond to the requests of a large number of people. The same thing happened in the case of the iPod, when people asked for a more affordable solution for music players.

If this should happen, Apple has reasons to expect their sales numbers to go skyrocket, just as it has with the iPod in the past. It looks rather amusing to see the iPhone in the reduced Nano version, looking like a twin for Apple's music player.

If the company does decide to release a cheaper version of the iPhone in the future, it is very unlikely that they will rely only on slimming the design down, rather than finding a common line between design and functionality.

A cheaper version of the iPhone might be available starting with the fourth quarter of the year. Whether it will be an iPhone Nano or not is less important. What does count in this rumor is that Apple might be thinking of a second phone release for a product which will better adapt to the needs for telecommunication of people. Moreover, it proves that the company intends on following the line set until now and release even more mobile phones in the future.
