New iPhone would focus on slim design, video chat capabilities

Another cool concept emerging this week is the MacBook Air-styled iPhone 4G. The surreal device not only boasts the design particularities of the world's thinnest notebook, but also functionality currently only available with Mac OS X. Here's a hint: it uses your iSight camera.

That's right, the 4G iPhone boasts iChat capabilities, according to Gizmodo, which goes as far as claiming there's a good chance Apple will implement this feature soon.

Notice how well the design combines MacBook Air and iPhone elements. One good indication that Apple's next iPhone will look close to this concept is the company's line of unibody notebooks. All adopt the same streamlined design combining an aluminum casing and a black bezel around the screen. Those elements can easily be seen translated in this concept, with the front of the device being covered with an aluminum shell, while the back retains the sleek, black case seen on the currently selling iPhone models (differing only in shape).

One problem though – it doesn't seem very possible.

· Apple fans will never settle for less functionality when it comes to a newer iPhone model · Apple itself said it didn’t develop stuff that was worse than what it sold at the moment. · Quite frankly, we just don't see how Apple can cram a fast processor, storage to spare and a long lasting battery inside that thin casing (not with the current width and height standards, anyway).

Whether or not this concept comes close to what Apple has in mind for a new iPhone, it is being reported that Apple is allegedly buying a lot of NAND flash supplies for a next-gen handset. AppleInsider has spotted a report issued on the flash RAM market, indicating that Apple is inhaling supplies of memory components in preparation for the next generation iPhone. The move has allegedly caused part shortages and raised the spot price for memory.
